WHY IT MATTERS

HOW IT WORKS

Teams must have a coach on-site at the shows, but your school doesn't necessarily need to hire one. We provide ISHS coaches at each show, so your team can just check the box when they sign up and we'll hook them up with an awesome coach.

If you'd like to have a coach for your team, it can be any adult who knows about horses that can helps the kids during the show. Many of our schools use teachers, riding instructors, ISHS alumni riders, or parent volunteers as coaches. Click here to learn more about coaches.

ABOUT OUR COACHES

Our host barn's professionally trained horses are totally competent equine companions. They live at the facility, are regularly ridden in the show ring, and are comfortable in their surroundings. They are fun to ride, beautifully behaved, and the perfect "canvases" for you to showcase your skills.

The judge cannot tell which horses belong to the barn and which ones belong to the riders. (But he/she doesn't care either way because judging is based solely on the athlete-- not on the animal.)

While performance is important, we consider safety to be the top priority. Instructors from the host barn are always on-site to help out, answer questions, and to ensure each rider is comfortable with their horse assignment.
